Communitas is a community choir run as part of the Converge centre at York St John University. We sing a wide variety of songs – English folk, gospel, African, etc.
The songs are taught aurally and there is no requirement to read music or to be a trained musician – it’s all about enjoying singing, finding your voice and having fun!
The choir meets every Tuesday evening during term times, from 6pm to 7.30pm, and welcomes people who use mental health services, university students and staff.
The first session of this year was on Tuesday 29th January 2013 but please don’t worry that the choir has already started! All are welcome to join in at any time but please let us know you are coming if you are new.
