Converge Celebrate!

We are pleased to announce that in this May, we will be hosting a series of events celebrating the great work of Converge students, more details can be found here and photos of some of the sessions here.

We really hope you can make it along to watch a show, say hello and find out more about what its like to be part of Converge.

First Public Performance of Communitas Choir

Last Tuesday we saw a fantastic performance by the Communitas Choir at their December Christmas Concert attended by friends and family of the singers and members of the university. The African tribal music brightened up a cold and rainy evening and had us all feeling warm and energised. The mixture of singing voices from both male and female participants resulted in fantastic unaccompanied harmonies and a beautiful collection of unusual songs which had us all clapping along and swaying to the lullabies. The singers were enthusiastic, stomping their feet and moving in time to the songs creating an uplifting atmosphere in the room.

After seven outstanding songs we shared mince pies and hot drinks whilst the audience were invited to sing along to Christmas carols, this time accompanied by the piano! After two rounds of ‘White Christmas’ we all ventured out into the cold feeling a lot more Christmassy and looking forward to the concert in May.

Summer School Success!

A fantastic summer school was had by everyone who attended and supported, in fact the only negative feedback we recieved was that it was all over too quickly, prompting instant conversations about next year’s summer school!

Here at Converge we are gathering together all the lovely words and pictures we received over the two and hope to get it all together for you to look at soon. In the meantime make sure you check out some of the photos from the event.
